The Civil Society Organization Show

The First Belgrade Civil Society Organization Show takes place on May 7 -9. This new event, organized at Belgrade Fair by Belgrade City Management and Agency for Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Organizations and European Harmonization, gathered fifty Civil Society Organizations, who will have the opportunity to cooperate, exchange experiences and promote various forms of civil activism in the next three days.

- The Belgrade CSO Show is a good example of the cooperation of the civil sector and the local self-management, as well as an opportunity for presentation of numerous NGO projects within social, children and the veteran / disabled protection and a special place will be taken also by projects for employment support and tourism development, said Mr. Goran Sehovic, Managing Director of the Agency for Cooperation with the Non-Governmental Organizations and European Harmonization.

At the event festive opening, the organizers extended their special gratitude to Belgrade Fair, who provided the exhibiting space to the participants and Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, Belgrade Fair CEO, said:

- We create and make profits at commercial events and can afford the luxury of performing non-profit matters if they are important, like this one and their values cannot be estimated in money. In addition to this, we find our place here, since Belgrade Fair beats in Belgrade rhythm and sometimes we manage to impose our rhythm to Belgrade. It is also known that each Euro created at the Fair generates 12 Euros in the city economy, so that our value exceeds the borders of the Fair itself.  We would like you to use these days for an exchange of experiences, defining new projects and plans for the next year, we are providing you our full assistance and support in this and we expect to be your host for many more years.

Mr. Zoran Alimpic, Acting Mayor of Belgrade, also expressed his pleasure for the organizing the new event, saying he expected this event to become important for the whole country and then also for the region. He explained the local self-management should and has to cooperate with the Non-Governmental Organizations, which is also a strategic determination of the Assembly of Belgrade.
