Energy, Ecology and Economics – The Themes of the Modern Era
Energy, Ecology and Economics – The Themes of the Modern Era Two specialized events – the 4th International Energy Fair and the 5th International Environment Protection and Local Self Management Fair ECOFAIR will take place on November 26 – 28,, at Belgrade Fair.

The most important organizations, institutions and companies dealing with the use, distribution and saving of energy and the environment protection, will gather at one place. Since the energy sources are limited worldwide, the use of sustainable energy sources, saving and energy efficiency are a must of the modern era, as well as the main themes of the Energy Fair. It should not be pointed out why the central matters of the ECOFAIR are nature preservation and environment protection.

- When we started these events, 4 – 5 years ago, those were subjects not really interesting for the media and they are the trend now. It means only that we started in due course and we united them because the energy is related to anything later on resolved by the ecology, said Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, Belgrade Fair General Manager, at the Press Conference.
- We have to preserve the environment, since we haven’t got another one and, in spite of the fact that these are the fields operated by few people, both events are important, as they will be the place of experience exchange and the development strategy definition.

Speaking about these events, Mr. Nikola Rajakovic, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Energy, said the energy and ecology could be observed separately anyway, they were closely united themes and the third E – Economics was missing for the real entirety:

- These fair events are a good opportunity to define the technical/technological energy opportunities, to present the actual points, but also to set the objectives. One of our liabilities is starting the development cycle and great attention is certainly attracted also by the energy efficiency and the sustainable energy sources. The importance of these themes is shown also by the need to introduce young experts into the trade in due course. Thus, during these events at Belgrade Fair, 100 scholarship contracts will be signed, offered to the students by Belgrade University and a company consortium dealing with the energy, said Mr. Rajakovic.

Ms. Ljiljana Stanojevic, Assistant Minister of Space Planning and Environment, also spoke about the connection between the energy and ecology, saying Serbia should look for its chance in the projects dealing with the sustainable energy sources and the energy efficiency, but a very important task was also the investor attracting who would like to deal with the environment protection. An unavoidable matter was also waste management, especially the dangerous one, but those were the operations which had to be taken by the local self management.

Announcing the Energy Fair and the ECOFAIR, Ms. Visnja Zivulj, Project Manager, said about 250 exhibitors would feature themselves this year at 5.5 thousand square meters exhibiting space. A group participation would be organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Czech businessmen. Recycling would be one of the top themes and numerous presentations and discussions were scheduled within a comprehensive side event program respectively.
