Having pointed out the country’s military safety strengthened through partnership and many military activities, Mr. Pilipovic stressed the increasing capacity of the Army of the Republic Serbia in the last few years, both in the scientific research branch and the logistics, adding that 30 foreign military representatives had announced their participation in the PARTNER 2009. Companies from 13 countries will present their accomplishments and projects within arms and military equipment, in addition to the Serbian defense system institutions, outdoors and in Belgrade Fair Hall 3.

The event PARTNER 2009 co-organizer is Jugoimport SDPR. Managing Director of this company, Mr. Stevan Nikcevic, said at the Press Conference at Belgrade Fair that in its 60th Anniversary year, Jugoimport had the best export results in Serbia since the beginning of 2009. Mr. Nikcevic announced participation of important co-exhibitors of the Jugoimport as the integrator of the defense industry participation at this year’s event.

Assistant General Manager of the Jugoimport SDPR, Dr. Nenad Miloradovic, announced a presentation of several new development projects, completely developed in this company and produced under cooperation of Serbian military and civilian institutions. Among the novelties, there are the multi-purpose armored transporter LAZAR, the self-propelled howitzer NORA, the reconnoiter combat vehicle WOLF, the artillery fire guiding system, military equipment and arms of ‘The Future Soldiers’, etc.

Announcing the International Defense Fair PARTNER 2009, Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, the CEO of Belgrade Fair as the executive organizer of the event, said the Fair organized independently 40 events annually and could not successfully organize this project itself, without the expert support of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and the Jugoimport SDPR. The fact that many innovations within the military equipment and arms, having their premieres at the Fair, were highly estimated by military experts worldwide, as well, confirmed the justification of organizing such an event.

The festive opening of the 4th International Defense Fair PARTNER 2009 is on Tuesday, June 2, at 11.00 a. m, in the Belgrade Fair Hall 3.
On June 2 – 4, the opening hours are from 10.00 a. m. to 5.00 p. m., for business visitors only, whereas on June 5, in the addition to the exhibitors’ partners, the Defense Fair may be seen by other interested visitors from 10.00 a. m. to 7.00 p. m.
