Under the auspices of the Electrical Power Industry of Serbia, 5th International Energy Fair ENERGY 2009 will be held simultaneously.

The Opening Ceremony of the two events has been scheduled for 14 October at 11.00a.m. when the latest achievements in these branches will be presented by the ministers – Oliver Dulic, Minister of the Protection of Environment and Spatial Planning and Petar Skundric, Minister of Mining and Energy.

ECOFAIR has established itself as the leading Fair in Southeast Europe dedicated to the protection and preservation of human environment. It is organised as the economic and educational exhibition, gathering domestic and foreign exhibitors, making their contribution with their products and activities, to the improvement and maintenance of the environment.

The ENERGY FAIR will gather some 200 exhibitors from Serbia and 15 European countries, which, under the slogan “Energy of Nature” will promote their products and services. Topics will be presented by the high profile companies and institutions dealing with the manufacture and distribution of electrical energy, coal, gas, oil and renewable energy resources.

By announcing the two specialised events, Andjelko Trpkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Fair, has pointed out that these Fairs are closely interconnected and holding of the two influence both sectors. The Energy Fair has established itself as a high profile event at the time it was obvious that the resources are not inexhaustible, and that renewable resources as the solution, have to be recognised and promoted at the Fair. ECOFAIR attracts special attention, with its numerous gatherings within the Accompanying Programme.

Safe supply with energy resources and the sector’s reform which will be conducted as the constant regional development, was announced by Radivoje Milanovic, State Secretary in the Ministry of Mining and Energy. He said that investment will be put into renewable energy resources and energy mining, and invited the manufacturers of energetic equipment to follow the trends and make efforts to be competitive with the importers.

“Ecology Fair is an excellent opportunity to exchange the experiences with the colleagues and promote friendly attitude towards environment”, said Aleksandar Vesic, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Environment. “This event will not only cover the field of environment, but the segment of recycling industry as well. This segment will soon be standardised and next year the field of waste managemnt will be getting the licences.

Electrical Power Energy of Serbia is a socially responsible company, taking place at both Fairs, with which it is closely connected – ENERGY FAIR since EPS is the producer of electrical energy from coal and water, and ECOFAIR since the usage of natural resources is affecting the environment, as explained by Momcilo Cebalovic, PR Director, EPS announcing an active presentation at Belgrade Fair.

“ECOFAIR will be a good opportunity for SEKOPAK to bring words into actions”, announced Rebeka Bozovic, Genral Secretary of this Association, which will place 66 containers in three colours for three types of waste materials, on 22 recycled islands. Exhibitors and visitors will be able to dispose of packaging waste, while the Fairgrounds will become the recycling polygon with the mini recycling system installed.

“We have managed to organise the Energy and Ecology Fairs this year, despite extremely difficult economic conditions, which sends a clear sign on the importance and position these events represent in the region,” said Visnja Zivulj, Project Manager of these two Fairs.
