The State Will Not Stand in the Way for Entrepreneurs

The 8th International Fair of Entrepreneurs was opened at Belgrade Fair and will last until Saturday, 28th  November. The event has gathered more than 300 enterprises and entrepreneurs from the country and region.

Andjelko Trpkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Fair has pouinted out to the importance of entrepreneurial spirit at the Opening Ceremony. With the remark that this spirit is not magic and does not come out from the lamp, he said that the entrepreneurs need a lot of work, cooperation and support from the state institutions for the successful business, continuing further that the transformation of small companies into the medium and large ones is a natural order, which is to be followed and cherished. Business Base is an ideal venue to gather the latest know-how, great efforts and lots of ideas.

This year, the Fair was announced by Goran Dzafic, Director of the Republic Agency for Development of SMEE. More than 80 foreign partners are present at the Fair ready to make arrangements and contracts with our entrepreneurs, among which many are expected to find permanent partners.

The International Fair of Entrepreneurs BUSINESS BASE 2009 was opened by Mladjan Dinkic, Vice-President of the Serbian Government and Minister of Economy and Regional Development:

"Entrepreneurs are among the bravest, prone to risks and challenges and we have good reasons to stimulate them. Their business provide living for around one million people in Serbia and, except for the financial sector, SME make 60% of the country’s gross income. We have not incresed the tax, which was a tough decision, as  we did not want to make their business even more difficult. Comparing our results with Croatia which implemented this process, it is clear that we have been right."

Dinkic has announced the reduction of bureaucracy in 2010 asking support in undertaking this action, while he promised the entrepreneurs further reductions – easier, faster and cheaper establishing of the new comanies, abolishing redundant regulations, and automatic permissions for all requirements.

"For the past four years, small and medium enterprises employed some 200 thousand people, a significant number in the era of massive job losses. We have concluded that small and medium business depends a lot on personal engagement and individual quality, and the state will give its best not to be on their way to success."
