The Sector of Emergency Management of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia organized within the side event program of the International Prevention and Emergency Management Fair an interested and very well visited 112 WORKSHOP. Presentation of the activities related to the forming and operation improvement of the complex and unique Sector of Emergency Management attracted great attention of the trade publics, but also citizens.

Pointing out the growing conscience that Serbia should get such a service created by the European standards and his pleasure that many services and individuals work on its founding, the event was opened by Mr. Predrag Maric, Assistant Minister of Interior and the Head of the Sector of Emergency Management.

In the previous year, it was done and invested much into this service and on July 8, the Emergency Management Law was established. The follow-up, but also important section of the work still has to be done – the adoption of many executive acts, foundation of the Risk Management Department and importance return to the Civil Protection Department.

Mr. Djordje Babic, Deputy Head of the Sector of Emergency Management, also confirmed the legal frame for the creation of an emergency integrated system was created, but there were still many activities to be done by this Department. To react in the proper way under the emergency situations, this Department had to be prepared, the management and coordination system had to exist and that understood also the surveillance of the law fulfillment, the prevention work, preparation and training of the Department officers and unit equipping for operation situations.
