The two specialised exhibitions were opened today at Belgrade Fair – 6th International ENERGY Fair and 7th International Fair of Environmental Protection ECOFAIR. Until 15th October, more than 180 exhibitors from the country and abroad will be presented to the audience in the Halls 1 and 1A.

Emphasizing that both energy and ecology are among the most important issues of the modern world, Petar Skundric, Minister of Mining and Energy in the Serbian Government, has explained that the priorities of the modern times include the providing of sufficient quantities of energy resources in a healthy environment.

"Serbia has begun a large investment project in the field of energy, while we still expect the capital investment to come," said Skundric. "We expect the activation of the new energy plants, strategic partnership with the Italian companies and opening of the two new thermal blocks – "Nikola Tesla 3" and "Kolubara B". Investing in the new "smart electrical meters" is planned for the next year, while quality remote heating is expected in the forthcoming winter period, since sufficient quantities of energy substances were provided.

Speaking of the participants at these two events Minister said that both fairs are international, but the good thing is that domestic firms are predominant. This is in accordance with the government strategy, meaning that the most important projects in the construction of new and reconstruction of old plants in this branch are given to domestic companies.

An abundant Accompanying Programme is an important segment of these fairs, as an opportunity for the companies and experts to make the contacts, exchange their experiences and establish business collaboration.
