On December 2 – 4, two specialized events will take place at Belgrade Fair – the 25th International Fair of Winter Sport Equipment, Tourism and Recreation – EXPO ZIM 2010 and the 9th International Entrepreneurship Fair BUSINESS BASE, it was announced at the press conference.

BUSINESS BASE - the 9th International Entrepreneurship Fair will take place on December 2 – 4, at Belgrade Fair Hall 4. This is an event supporting founding and development of the small and medium sized enterprises, contributing to the creation of a general entrepreneurship culture, increasing the innovativeness and competitiveness and influencing development of the youth and women’s entrepreneurship.

More than 300 small and medium sized enterprises and entrepreneurs will feature their offers at five thousand square meters, in several product groups – Manufacturing Entrepreneurs, Salesmen and the Service Providing Entrepreneurs. They are promoted at the BUSINESS BASE through  their trade, local and regional associations and especially insist upon the implementation of new knowledge, skills, responsibility and persistence.

-The Entrepreneurship Fair is an opportunity to summarize the results at the end of the year as regarding the small and medium sized enterprises, said Mr. Ivica Ezdenci, CEO of the National Agency for Regional Development, this year’s Co-Organizer of the BUSINESS BASE.
-There are 335 thousand small and medium sized enterprises in Serbia, employing about 850 thousand people. We have polled the businessmen from this branch recently and have got very interesting results – 50 percent of them believe they are successful in their jobs and plan new investments, one third want to expand their activity, 30 percent of them have difficulties in their work and only 10 percent think about their survival. The conclusion may certainly be that the ‘Key of the Success’, which is the motto of this year’s event, is just in this economy section.

Announcing the 9th BUSINESS BASE, Mr. Ostoja Ilic, Project Manager, said there was no entrepreneurship without ideas, as there was no business without the small and medium sized enterprises. He invited all those interested in business starting to come to the Entrepreneurship Fair on December 2 – 4, where they would find both the ideas and information, since this year’s participants were many local and international institutions, organizations and economic associations. The way of featuring many exhibitors should be seen at this event, but an important part of it was also a diverse and interesting side event program.

The opening of the 9th International Entrepreneurship Fair is on Thursday, December 2, at 11.00 am, at the Hall 4, the stand of the Agency for the Development of SME and Entrepreneurship.

Opening hours are from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. Single tickets cost RSD.250.00 and the group ones (for 20 or more visitors) RSD.200.00.

25th EXPO ZIM

The 25th International Fair of Winter Sport Equipment, Tourism and Recreation – EXPO ZIM 2010, an event starting traditionally in Serbia the beginning of the winter sport and tourism season, takes place at the same time, on December 2 – 5, at Belgrade Fair.

There are more than 80 local and worldwide exhibitors at this year’s EXPO ZIM, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Serbia and the Sport for All Association. This event is an opportunity to present at one place the impressive exhibiting offer of the best known local and worldwide manufacturers, to buy the new equipment, exchange or repair the old one, or to choose a tourism arrangement for the forthcoming winter, the New Year’s and Christmas holidays.

With the remark we were not at the neighbors’ success level by our results, Mr. Dragan Zecevic, Project Manager, said there was not a similar event in the region:

-Also this year, we managed to create a good fair event – we increased the number of exhibitors, the ski centers will feature independently, the tourism section became an important one. Many entertaining and sport features are waiting for the visitors, prize games organized by the exhibitors at their stands and due to high discounts, the EXPO ZIM is the right opportunity for getting the sport equipment and paying the tourism arrangements.

Mr. Petar Stakic, Secretary General to the Sport for All Association, also spoke of the event, having the 25 years long tradition:

-Notwithstanding the economic situation, the interest in the EXPO ZIM is great, everyone will find something for himself there, since there is a great offer – from the exchange of the old equipment, through buying the used one, up to those who can afford buying the latest brand models. It becomes clear that the discounts are not neglectable either when one adds the savings accomplished by the visitors buying the equipment, paying the arrangements and ski passes for the local ski centers.

On December 2, at noon, at the Hall 1, Mr. Boris Strel, the great champion, the first medal winner for Yugoslavia at the World Championships and the first World Cup Winner, will festively open the EXPO ZIM. In addition to the role of the Guest of Honor, Mr. Boris Strel participates in this year’s event also as a businessman, since he will display for his partners at Belgrade Fair the latest ski repair machine. The experienced champion, insisting upon the importance of the equipment for successful and safe skiing, will promote the machine at the EXPO ZIM and feature the new repair technology for the winter sport equipment.
