The largest business/tourist event in Serbia – the International Tourism Fair begins in two days at Belgrade Fair. At this year’s 33rd review, taking place on February 24 – 27, 900 local and international exhibitors will feature
respectively. The best known travel agencies, hotel chains, insurance companies, the most attractive travel destinations, local and international organizations will promote their offers.
The Partner Country of this year’s Tourism Fair is Croatia, presenting the most attractive features of its rich tourism offer. In addition to Croatia, the most individual exhibitors arrive from Greece and Turkey and in total 43 countries
will be featured there.
Within the Tourism Fair, having the motto ‘Start the Summer Today!’, the 2nd Wine Fair – Beo Wine Fair takes place, as well.
Announcing this traditional event, Ms. Renata Pindzo, Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Economics and Regional Development, said the year 2011 would be devoted to the event affirmation Serbia was famous for. In order to let this
economic branch develop, Serbia had to offer its numerous tourist products.
At the Press Conference held at the Kalemegdan, in the Nebojsa Tower, Ms. Gordana Plamenac, CEO of the Tourist Organization of Serbia spoke, as well, saying:
- The tourism industry is fantastic, a branch gathering an outstanding number of exhibitors, visitors, important guests, tour operators and journalists. Through the promotion of the new wine tour map and wine tasting, the TOS will
feature also the wine industry, we shall continue awarding the traditional Tourist Flower prize and this year we participate in the stand Serbian Villages, as well.
Mr. Dejan Veselinov, CEO of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade, said the Tourism Fair would be visited by many local and international guests, between three and four thousand of them were expected there and Belgrade would feature as a
city of culture and sports. Under cooperation with ‘Lasta’, the TOB would organize a free of charge city sightseeing during the Tourism Fair, as well.
The 33rd International Tourism Fair festive opening is on Thursday, February 24, at 11.00 a. m. in Belgrade Fair Hall 4.
