Successful Business Cooperation Between the Czech Republic and Serbia

The National Exhibition of the Czech Republic is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade at 55th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements.

The Czech economy and the cooperation with Serbia have been presented at Belgrade Fair by Hana Hubackova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Belgrade, Lubos Joza, Economic Counselor in the Embassy and Pavel Svoboda, Director of the Czech Trade Representative Office in Belgrade.

The Czech export to Serbia is double comparing to the import, selling passenger cars, cleaning agents, chipboard slabs, computers, railway structures and mobile phones, importing from Serbia steel constructions, binoculars and electrical switches. The products exchanged between the two countries have the value added tax included.

Besides the successful goods exchange, the Czech Republic expects to increase the investments in Serbia showing an interest in breweries, medicines, recycling and small hydroelectric power plants. They also believe it will not be long until Serbia invests in their country, as well.

What stimulates businessmen to cooperate are the various opportunities, primarily the institutional frame, banished or significantly reduced customs duties, banished double taxing and the existance of the Agreement on Investment Protection.

Czech Trade – Agency for the Trade Support of the Czech Republic, significantly contributes to a better insight and improvement of economic cooperation, matchmaking and establishing collaboration between the companies. Special attention is paid to the field of information, reconstruction and modernisation of the traffic infrastructure, tool machines, heavy industry, equipment, devices and ecology.
