Permanent bond between energy and protection of human environment

Under the auspices of the department ministries - energy and protection of human environment, 8th ECOFAIR 2011 and 7th ENERGY FAIR 2011 have been opened at Belgrade Fair. These international fairs gathered all major domestic and international companies and institutions dealing with the production and distribution of various energy sources – oil, gas, electrical power, renewable energy resources, energy efficiency and protection and preservation of human environment.

Oliver Dulic, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning said at the Opening Ceremony that by the end of the present Government mandate, 10 thousands new work places will be opened in Serbia in green and recycling industries, while the forthcoming period will bring several tens of thousands of jobs more, in this and the field of renewable energy resources.

Pointing that more than a billion dinars were invested in the waste management, Dulic emphasized that organised waste disposal covers 72 percent of the Serbian territory, while by the end of the year the percentage will rise to 75. Only three years ago, the waste was collected from 60 percent of the territory.

According to Minister Dulic, significant money was invested into restoring black environmental spots such as Pancevo and Bor,while investments have been put into 17 recycling centres, enabling the usage of appr. 50 percent of communal waste. The Serbian Parliament is expected to pass two important laws soon – on communal activities and public-private partnership, which will enable private capital investment in the communal sector.

ECOFAIR and ENERGY FAIR 2001 will be opened until Friday, 14th October and are held in the Hall 1, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Working hours are until 5 p.m. on the final day.
