Just as announced, the Book Fair has got an extremely extensive side event program this year, as well. Very diverse literary and cultural events start from the first day.
"Does the Book Need a PR?" is an intrigue and at the same time also the first topic at the Book Fair Forum.
The Forums will be held daily at noon and featuring the participation of the Republic of Srpska has been scheduled for the same time on Monday, as well.
The Writers’ House and the Museum of Language and Writing in Tršić will be featured to the Fair visitors as important new institutions for the Serbian literature and the first round table conference is devoted to the postcolonial studies. It will be spoken about new faces of the worldwide literature in it.
The comics’ fans should not miss the festive opening of the Comics Hall and featuring of an extensive program held daily in it.
The afternoon hours will be marked by Dositej Obradović, since the Dositej Foundation’s exhibition with the theme "Dositej’s Knowledge Tour" was opened.
"Agora" will feature books on the connections of Dositej to Germany, presented at the Leipzig Fair and the prize having Dositej’s name, awarded annually to an international publisher for his continuous contribution in publishing and promotion of Serbian literature, will be awarded at 6.00 pm, in the Selenić Conference Hall.
Among the writers who will be present at the stands is also Mr. Mia Couto, a writer from Mozambique, having the honor of participating in the Fair opening, whose novel A River Called Time (Um Rio Chamado Tempo, uma Casa Chamada Terra) was published by Geopoetika. Mr. Couto will be at his publisher’s stand since 6.30 pm.
The Canadian Ms. Annabel Lyon will be at the Alnari stand all day long, who published her novel The Golden Mean.
At the Dereta stand, the visitors will be "awaited" by the novel "As três vidas", which brought the prestigious José Saramago Prize to João Tordo.
The Brazilian Ms. Ana Maria Machado, the first female writer who became a member of the National Academy of Arts, will sign the novel "Tropical sol da liberdade" at the Euro-Giunti stand.
Ms. Lidia Jorge will feature at the stand of the Guest of Honor at the Fair and then she will sign her book ‘O vento assobiando nas gruas’ at the Arhipelag stand.
One volume Collected Works of William Shakespeare will be featured at the Textbook Institute stand. |
