From today to May 31, the International Emergency Management, Occupational Safety and Health Fair – 112 EXPO is held at Belgrade Fair.

Oppening this 38th event, Mr. Ivica Dačić, Minister of Interior, said there were many risks in any society, but the consequences were different, since they depend upon prevention activities and informing: 

- Serbia has faced many catastrophes, endangering people, settlements and regions lately, from the natural ones, up to those caused by negligence. Thus, it has got experience in coping with such situations. We are aware of the prevention importance and therefore put great efforts and funds into the training and equipment and considerably reduce the problems in this way. Under emergency situations, there must be a high coordination level and in addition to a clear management system, another two things are very important – passed training and proper equipment. The purpose of the safety strategy is life, health and property protection and I have to take also this opportunity to praise the extraordinary devotion of all those participating in the rescue of usually quite unknown people.

The Minister of Interior also pointed out the importance of holding the 112 EXPO event, since the Fair is the place of featuring new technologies within protection and safety, but also an opportunity for an exchange of experiences and business deal establishing. 

Mr. Zoran Martinović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, also spoke about the importance of the  International Emergency Management, Occupational Safety and Health Fair at the festive opening:

- Our activities are related to the promotion of the prevention culture and good practice at work. Life and health are the most important things. Thus, the targeted objective is creation of healthy and safe work places. This is the job of all of us, it has been done a lot about it but the fact is also there are still those who have not coordinated their business with the regulations yet.

As declared by Mr. Zoran Martinović, State Secretary, Serbia started a strong action upon reducing injuries at work and increasing the prevention engagement. Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and the inspection authoriities are very active in accomplishing such objectives.
