The Occupational Safety and Health Directorate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Serbia organized within the Professional Side Event Program at 112 EXPO an extremely well visited seminar with the theme Occupational Injuries and Professional Disease Insurance.

In the introduction section of the seminar, Mr. Predrag Peruničić, Director of the Labour Inspectorate, spoke about the local experiences regarding the inspection monitoring within the occupational safety and health and Mr. Miodrag Loncović from the Occupational Safety and Health Department of the Occupational Safety and Health Directorate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Serbia, attracted attention of the attendees by the information on the competition for the “Good Practice” European Award, organized traditionally by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work.

This Ministry took over the responsibility to collect by June 29, this year, the applications of the interested companies (one with less than 100 and one with more than 100 employees) for this competition, in order to let Serbia be the first of the West Balkans countries including itself into this competition devoted to protection, safety and health at work.

In the second section of the seminar, the attendees witnessed an extensive and precise public exchange of experiences among the international experts, dealing with the occupational injury and professional disease insurance, for damage compensation, as this branch has been regulated in their respective countries. The experts from even five countries spoke there: Mr. Kenichi Hirose from the International Labour Organization, Mr. Karl Kolpert und Mr Roland Lengauer from Austria, Ms. Sona Oslanska from Slovakia, Mr. Franc Rancigaj from Slovenia and Mr. Fran Marović from Croatia.
