- This is an event showing that quantity is not always the most important thing – neither the number of exhibitors, nor the number of visitors, fair events mostly grow from the small to the large ones. The Entrepreneurship Fair is one of the rare ones having the correct name, since it really represents the business base; it is the real start up fair event. In it, one may recognize business, start a new job, try one’s strength with the competition, but also find partners, said Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Fair.

Speaking about the importance of connecting the Government institutions with the small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs, Mr. Dejan Jovanovic, Director of the Republic SMEE Development Agency, said:

- From the BUSINESS BASE, a message is sent to the managers of the small and medium-sized enterprises that they are not alone in this job, that there are both Governmental and international institutions interested in assisting the small business. The objective is to improve their business quality and establish the two ways contact between them.

There are also good reasons for such attitude and, perhaps, they are shown in the best way by a few statistical data. There are 300,000 small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs currently in Serbia, employing 60 percent of the total number of employees in the country and their companies produce more than a half of the national product.

Project Manager of the BUSINESS BASE Fair, Mr. Ostoja Ilic, said he was especially pleased that the event was annually considerably increasing and this year 270 exhibitors were featuring themselves at 4.5 thousand square meters at all the three levels of the Hall 2. He explained, one of the planned objectives was connecting the big, medium-sized and small business and pointed out significant group participations.

Organizing an Entrepreneur Forum was announced, as well, which will introduce the most successful entrepreneurs and enterprises in Serbia. In addition to the organizers, a contribution to this fair event will be given also by the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Serbian Business Registers Agency, National Employment Service, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, which participates under cooperation with Banjaluka Chamber of Commerce, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and many more organizations and institutions.

The BUSINESS BASE 2007 will be festively opened on Wednesday, November 28, by Mr. Mladjan Dinkic, Minister of Economics and Regional Development in the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

Practical information

The Entrepreneurship Fair will be open from November 28 to December 1, from 10.00 a. m. to 7.00 p. m. The single ticket price is RSD.150.00 and RSD100.00 for group visits. The car parking shall be paid RSD.50 / 1 hour.
