The Legendary Italian Skier Arrived at Belgrade

One of the best world skiers ever, the Italian Alberto Tomba, held a press conference in the overfull ‘Sport Caffe’, as the announcement of today’s opening of the 22nd International Fair of Winter Sports, Tourism and Recreation "Expo-Zim". |

The conference was opened by Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic, General Manager of Belgrade Fair.
Pointing out "that it is clear to everyone why we are here", he gave the floor to Mr. Slobodan Perunicic, representative of ITM Company, the Fila wholesaler for Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. Speaking about the Fila, Mr. Perunicic mentioned, it was one of the oldest sports brand names, founded as early as in 1911. It started its cooperation with famous sportsmen Borg and Stenmark already in the middle 1970’s. Today, its best known promoter is Alberto Tomba.
In his speech, the General Manager of Belgrade Fair mentioned last year’s Expo-Zim, when, as he stated, a good project had been made with Sport for All Association, in order to promote winter sports and recreation.
Stating that “it was an excellent event”, he expressed his minor worry, but also the expectations that the 22nd Expo-Zim would be even better and of higher quality. |
The famous skier started his performance signing the skies of the same manufacturer, decorated last year also by Stenmark’s name.
The glorious Italian skier stated, he was very happy to be the promoter of the Winter Sport Fair Expo-Zim in Serbia.
- I am happy to inherit on the promoter place my great friend Ingemar Stenmark, said Tomba.
- Serbia has got great skiing potentials, not only young talents, but also mountains, which may provide little Tombas.
After the Fair opening and visiting, Tomba will give his signatures at the Fila stand.
Finishing the conference, Mr. Andjelko Trpkovic expressed his pleasure for the fact that, in addition to the Stenmark’s signature, we should also keep the signature of another great master of the skiing lines, Alberto Tomba.
Relaxed and smiling, Tomba was posing to the photo reporters and answered many questions of the journalists.
